どうも、吾輩です。
同人ゲーム制作に幾度となく挑戦していますが、幾度となく挫折しています。
ゲーム開発ソフトはNscripterを使用し、ノベルゲームばかり作っています。いや、作ろうとしています。
アイデアだけなら１０以上だし、実際作り始めたものも５つや６つはあるはずですが、ゲームとしてちゃんと遊べる作品は1本しかできていません。
以下に挫折パターンを並べてみようと思います。
・話が終わらない
小説でも毎度毎度やっているパターンです。
書きたいシーンを書いて満足してしまう、あるいは書きたいシーンにたどり着く過程で挫折してしまいます（後者多し）。
・分岐しすぎ
結果的には「話が終わらない」の１形態ですがゲームならではだとなーと思ったので別項目にしました。。
選択肢によってエンディングが変わるゲームで、分岐が増えることによって必要な文章量が劇的に増加したり、各ルートに修正困難な矛盾が生じたりしてその結果やる気を失います。
・変数複雑すぎ
特定エンディングに到達するための条件分岐で、必要なフラグがやたらいっぱいあったり、「このキャラの好感度がいくつ以上」の場合に好感度を上げられる選択肢の回数や、その中で何度正解を選べば条件達成するのかの計算など、システムに振り回されて嫌になってしまいます。
・絵が描けない
短めにまとまったシナリオがちゃんと完成し、フラグも複雑でなかったにもかかわらずこれでお蔵入りになった作品が１本だけあります。
背景画像のみ、あるいはシルエット立ち絵にして完成させればいいのでは？ と思われるかもしれませんが、エロゲだったのでスチルが必須なのです。
立ち絵はともかく一枚絵へたくそすぎて挫折しました。
ごらんのありさまだよ！
これだけ挫折を繰り返しているにもかかわらず、いいネタが降ってくればまたゲームを作りたいと常々思っている吾輩です。
ちなみに唯一の完成作品はB級ホラー系の殺人鬼から逃げ回るノベルゲームでした。
