どうも、吾輩です。
その方面に脚を突っ込んでいる人なら一度は悩む。
とはいっても性的表現については語り尽くされている感があるのでそれはよそさまにお任せします。
問題はそれ以外の「不適切な描写」です。
例えば、内臓が出ちゃったらそれは１８禁でしょう。R-18G。
しかし、出ない程度の暴力はどこまで「全年齢向け」なのでしょうか。
ゲームや映画だと細かくレイティングが分かれてますよね。１５禁とか、１２歳以下は保護者が見せるかどうか判断してくださいみたいなのとか。あと、国によっても違います。その辺を考慮すると収拾がつかなくなるので、あくまで「日本国内」で「成人向けか否か」で考えます。
手始めに「銃」で考えてみましょう。現実の日本ではなじみが薄いですが、フィクションでは頻出の武器です。
同じ「銃で撃たれて死ぬ」にしても、ギャングの抗争で派手にドンパチしてモブがばたばた死ぬのと、主人公を狙撃からかばって親友が撃たれ、かっこいい台詞と血反吐を吐いて死ぬのでは読者（あるいは視聴者）の受ける衝撃は段違いですよね。「銃で人が死ぬ」という部分は同じなのですが、こういうの、どうなんでしょう。
あと悩みどころが「拷問」。
拘束した上で殴る程度なら、少年漫画でもたまに見るし問題ないのかな？ と思うのですが、もっと本格的な拷問をすると成人指定になってしまうんでしょうか。爪と指の間に針刺すとか。背中の皮ずるむけになるほど鞭打つとか。少年誌はともかく、青年誌だとたまに出てきますよね。凄惨なやつ。
暴力表現があるけれど成人向けではなく販売されている漫画や小説は、それでいいと出版社が判断したからいいのでしょうけども。
個人で暴力・拷問描写のある同人誌をつくったり、あるいはPixiv等に投稿したりするときは何を基準にしたらいいのか悩みどころです。
吾輩が一番困ったのは「腕の切断」。小説だったし、切断シーンの描写はないし、苦痛を仔細に説明しているわけでもないし……と、非常に困りました。
結局年齢制限つけました。保険です。
薬物乱用の描写なんかもどうしたらいいのか気になるところです。
